4th announcement

Dear colleagues,

As we announced earlier, the IAU symposium 279 has been rescheduled to 12 -
16 March, 2012. We are happy to announce here that the new registration page
is open now. This announcement contains various important updates regarding
the reorganization of the symposium. Please visit the symposium web site
regularly and frequently for updated information.

*** IMPORTANT (to those who registered to the symposium originally scheduled
in last April)***
Although the scientific program will be organized based on the original
program, we have decided to proceed with the registration process from
scratch. We request those who have once made registration for the conference
scheduled in last April to make registration and send the abstract again!
This applies to all the participants, irrespective of the type of the
presentation. Without the new submission, we regard that you are going to
cancel the original registration you made.

1. New registration and abstract submission page open (Deadline November
30).

The program of the symposium will be organized based on the original
program. However, we request all the participants, including those who did
register to the symposium originally scheduled in last April, make the
registration and send the abstract again. We need the most updated
participation information, and we also presume that the abstract might be
also updated reflecting the results in the past several months.

Although most of the new contribution will be selected as poster
presentation, we may have an additional few slots for oral contributions.
The number of the new slots will be very limited, depending on possible
cancellations from the speakers in the original program. This will be
selected from the abstracts submitted in the new registration page.

2. Financial support request.

The financial support will be arranged based on the original agreement made
before the decision of the postponement. An additional support to a few
young researchers or students may be available, depending on possible
cancelations of financial request. The application can be done in the
registration page.

3. Venue.

Due to the change in the schedule, we had to change the symposium site as
well. The new venue is Hotel Nikko Senhime Monogatari
(http://www.senhime.co.jp/en/). The new venue is in the same Nikko area as
the original site.
