The Proceedings book of IAU Symposium 279 will be published by CAMBRIDGE UNIVERSITY PRESS (CUP). All registered participants will receive a copy of the IAU Symposium Proceedings, since it is included in the registration fee.
Following the IAU Symposia guidelines, the Proceedings book will be published within six months after the Symposium, and CUP needs three months for its own processing of the manuscripts, leaving three months for the authors and the Editors to do their work. This imposes a very strict deadline for the authors to provide their manuscripts.
Manuscripts for the Proceedings are due no later than 11 April 2012. Email the manuscripts to the editors at the following address iau279_proc [ at ] ioa.s.u-tokyo.ac.jp. The following page limits apply for IAU Symposium No. 279:
- Invited paper (IP) = 8 pages
- Contributed oral paper (CP) = 4 pages
- Poster paper (PP) = 2 pages
The email title for the manuscript submission should be "IAU279 proceedings", and attach the postscript or pdf version of the manuscript, the tex source file and the figures to the email, which should be named as "authorname.tex", "authorname_fig1.eps", and so on. Please use a main body of the email for communication to the editors if needed. If total size of the manuscript files exceeds 10 Mbytes, please put them at some accessible location and communicate its URL to the editors.
The rules and guidelines for manuscript submission are based on the publishing contract between IAU and CUP. Please read them carefully as they provide valuable information. All the necessary files to prepare the manuscript can be downloaded from here, in which the header of the sample tex file has been edited to fit this Symposium. We recommend to download and use it.
